We are here to help brave dissidents refute the lies of their despotic leaders. Our technology makes it possible to bypass the blockades set up by autocratic regimes and to once again view and share all the content, from around the globe, that leaders like Vladimir Putin would prefer their citizens not have access to.
DonateYears of living under an oppressive leader have recently come to a devastating head, and we believe the people of Russia have a right to access the truth.
Decades of being innundated with relentless propaganda has resulted in millions of people believing the incessant lies of Russian State media. As soon as Putin illegally attacked Ukraine he also started blocking his population from access to many sources of information that contradict his lies. As the war progresses, more and more locations on the Internet which expose Putin's population to reality are made unreachable from inside Russia. Russian media (such as Meduza and Paper) as well as international sources that are described as "illegimiate" and "untrustworthy" by the Russian Government can't be viewed without VPNs which average Russians don't know how to use. Those seeking to consume outside news are stifled by Putin’s disinformation apparatus that prohibit access to domains that contradict their false, self-serving fiction.
We believe that the Russian public should be free to consider the facts for themselves. The world is already punishing them for their leader's actions. It's imperative that they at least understand why they are being made to suffer.
We will soon be adding many other sources that are currently blocked in Russia as well as curated editorial content that we feel is most useful for sharing but here's a simple example of how it all works.
Grab a link and send it to people in Russia... go ahead! They'll be able to click it and see it without any additional technology!
Here are the people without whose help we would have not been able to get to where we are as rapidly as we have. We are deeply grateful for their advice and passion.
There are already many brave and dissident voices inside of Russia, sharing real news stories and speaking the truth, many of which have had no choice but to flee their native land. These bold individuals have a voice and a following, and communicate through a variety of blogs or newsletters or products like Telegram. There are also journalists working at various establishments who don’t tow the party line and fight to give their people a sense of what’s actually going on inside Russia and beyond its borders.
We stand behind these courageous individuals, and firmly believe it’s their voices that stand the best chance of making an real and lasting impact. We want to empower these truth-seekers with the practical and technical components they need to get the real stories to the people of Russia.
Think of us as the middleman. Samizdat will make available whatever media sources Putin deems hostile and contradictory to his lies. In addition to making these publications available for full open perusal, our team of [EDITORS? - need a word here] will select the most pertinent stories and highlight them in our curated news feed. The stories in this feed will be translated into Russian and made available for distribution via our easy-to-distribute SOS-Link™ links. Then journalists, dissidents, bloggers, reporters or anyone else who has any kind of voice in Russia and who wants to can embed these content clips within their writing or share them via email or social media. Putin can chase after our domains if he wishes - we'll always be 3 steps ahead of him.
We’d love to hear from you.
