PEN America: Nonfiction Book Bans in U.S. Schools Doubled Last Year

A new PEN America report finds censorship of nonfiction titles on history, health, and general knowledge surged twofold during the 2024–25 school year, part of what the organization calls an 'embrace of anti-intellectualism.'
